Houghton Rangers 0 Barlestone Youth 2

In blustery conditions and an uneven playing surface Barlestone played superior football in the first half; kicking with the wind and down the slope. Joel Storer and Craig Goodman controlled the midfield and Vinney Harris showed some good touches. Despite there superiority Barlestone failed to create many chances and were disappointed to end the half with no goals.in the second half with the wind in there faces the management were concerned that Barlestone may concede goals but Barlestone continued to show good form, James Costello was beginning to cause problems for the opposition. After going on as substitute Michael Derham scored a great goal with a powerful shot from close range after good work from James Costello.Barlestone were in complete control of the game by now and, after another good move, Joel Storer scored from 12yrds.Barlestone continued to dominate; James Costello hit the post, Jake Wain and Josh Bailey were solid in defence as was Damian Irons and Tim Smith.

A good performance all round.

6- 03- 2005

Barlestone started in a determined mood eager to cancel out last weeks disappointment. After 10 minutes Craig Goodman scored a superb goal from 20yrds. James Costello and Vincent Harris were causing the visitors havoc with there attacking play. James Costello broke through and easily beat the goalkeeper with a powerful shot, and soon after repeated the same move leaving Barlestone 3 – 0 up at half time.

In the second half Barlestone were up to there old tricks and conceded a goal shortly after the break. But after a fine move involving Haydon Hunt, James Costello completed his hat trick.

Friar Lane put the pressure on Barlestone and despite some frantic defending by Josh Bailey and Jake Wain scored again.

A Mistake by the Barlestone goalkeeper led to the equaliser.

Vincent Harris then scored the winner for Barlestone after good work from James Costello.

20th February  2005

Barlestone had numerous chances to score in the first half but failed to find the net.

In the second half with the wind behind them Queniborough dominated the game and Barlestone capitulated showing no desire to stem the flow.

In the Queniborough won the game deservedly 7 - 0

 

18th October 2004

Barlestone Under 15’s 2 Enderby 4

Barlestone made a bright start to the game, playing some good football and forcing Enderby to play the long ball game. After 20 mins Storer broke away to fire in a fine goal to put the home team in front, Enderby continued with the long ball game and 1 min before half time after a lucky break Enderby equalised. The second half started as the first Barlestone were trying too play football but Enderby were content with playing the long ball. Barlestone missed a couple of golden opportunities that proved to be costly as Enderby caught out the Barlestone defence 3 times to go 4 – 1 ahead, Barlestone eventually got there just reward when Jake Wain scored from close range.

10th October 2004

Barlestone 4 Queniborough 1

Barlestone cruised to victory in this County Cup fixture.

Despite the blustery conditions, Barlestone played some good attacking football and goals in the first half from Harrington, Costello and Storer ensured Barlestone were in control of the game.

In the second half the wind played a big part in keeping Barlestone in there own half and it took some good defending to keep the opposition at bay. However Barlestone broke away and Storer again provided a good finish to score.

There were good performances from James Costello on his debut, Daniel Harrington and Daniel Finn.

3rd October 2004

Barlestone started the game brightly and took control of the game playing some flowing football. Harris opened the scoreing with a deft touch from a good cross from Harrington. Storer soon made it 2 for Barlestone following some good build up play.

Royce began to attack but the Barlestone defence, particularly Damien Irons, worked hard to keep the ball at bay.

In the second half after some pressure Perkins scored from close range and soon followed it up with a thumping shot from 20 yards. Micheal Derham completed the scoring with a fine shot from the edge of the box. Man of the match was Damien Irons

 

19th September 2004

Barlestone made a good start to the game and soon took control playing some excellent football. It was no surprise when Storer scored with a strong swerving volley.

Within minuets Epworth equalised after dome weak defending by Barlestone. Again Barlestone took control of the game outplaying there opponents and they were rewarded when Adcock score from close range following a free kick. Again some sloppy defending led to Epworth equaliser before halftime.

Barlestone played the second half as the first and despite creating clear chanced were unable to score then Epworth scored from a break away with only minutes remaining.

 

12th September 2004

Barlestone romped to an emphatic win at home to Lutterworth. Barlestone started the game brightly and were soon on top. After 15 mins Ashley Perkins put barlestone in front. Goals from Harrington, Storer and Hunt saw the home side 4- 0 up in the first half.

In the second half Barlestone continued there good work, and goals from Adcock, Storer (2) Ball and Beazley made the final score 9 – 0.
